February 8th, 2021 - Day of the Fire Pig
It always warms my heart when my (Fire Pig) day is auspicious! The Tong Shu says lots of activities are favored today. Do you want to pop the question to your lover? Do a deal? Start a course? All have the go ahead. Funerals and medical treatment are a strange pair, but both are no no’s.
February 9th, 2021 - Day of the Earth Rat
The Rat is the first sign of the Chinese Zodiac and gives the green light to new beginnings. The Chinese Almanac calls this an Open Day and says everything from engagements, house warmings and grand openings is favored. Yesterday it said hold off medical treatment. Well, that was just for a day. It’s auspicious now. Curiously, however, groundbreaking is not recommended.
February 10th, 2021 - Day of the Earth Ox
The Tong Shu calls this a Close Day. How fitting as we wind down the lunar year. Maybe it’s just time to pause and take a break. After a year of living with the pandemic we all need one.
February 11th, 2021 - Day of the Metal Tiger
Tomorrow begins the new, lunar year. If you’re like me, you probably still have a lot to do to get ready for all the festivities, beginning tonight. Well we have that legendary, Tiger energy and today being an Establish Day working for us. Time to get to work. Common sense tells us this is not a day for ceremonies like weddings or funerals.
February 12th, 2021 - Metal Rabbit
Happy Lunar New Year! We have a little problem. The Chinese Almanac calls this a Remove Day, a best used to remove something we don’t want. The thing is, there is this tradition, a superstition even, that says anything leaving the house today brings bad luck. I have two solutions. How about a New Year’s resolution that calls for ending a behavior, a bad habit for example? Or, hopefully you did the old, Chinese tradition last night that is a burning ceremony. Then today, make sure lots of people and things come in before anything goes out, even the garbage.

February 13th, 2021 - Day of the Water Dragon
No traditional Asian celebrates the lunar new year for just one day. Let the festivities continue! How nice to have the magnificent Dragon in charge today and to have the Chinese Almanac calling it a Full Day, or day of abundance. That’s not all! It’s the weekend. This could be a merry day indeed.
February 14th, 2021 - Day of the Water Snake
Oh my! Those lunar new year’s festivities are still happening and here comes Valentine’s Day! How romantic is it that the Tong Shu recommends marriage today! It’s Sunday, and while business is favored, you might want to think about a day trip or some fun thing to do. The Snake’s in charge, so, you might want to do something that involves mental effort. Gather with family and friends for some cards or a board game.
